There are approximately 200 different types of cancer

Government funding is dedicated to the 10 to 20 most common cancers

Unfortunately, approximately 90% of all cancers are considered rare
A rare disease, also referred to as an orphan disease, is any disease that affects a small percentage of the population.
In the United States, the Rare Disease Act of 2002  defines rare disease strictly according to prevalence, specifically "any disease or condition that affects less than 200,000 persons in the United States," or about 1 in 1500 people.

That means of the approximately 200 cancers currently existing today, many rare and ultra rare cancer are underfunded.
ACC is just one of many under funded cancers.
One in a million people per year are receiving a diagnosis for  Adrenal Cortical Carcinoma for  which there is no cure and the standard treatment is a 50 year old protocol of a synthetic form of the banned pesticide DDT.

It is scary enough receiving a diagnosis of cancer,but to be told in the same breath that there is no cure or no treatment for your type of cancer is crushing to the human spirit!

We have achieved amazing feats in our history from putting men on the moon to wiping away the death sentence once associated with an AIDS/HIV diagnosis. 

We have improved cancer mortality deaths by almost 18% across the board over the last 30+ years.

We have treatments for many cancers now that never had treatments or cures for in the past, all because of research!

We need to raise awareness for this ultra rare cancer considered an orphan disease which currently does not have a cure, or dedicated funding for  research!
